Djerba La Douce Tunisia

We went to Club Med Djerba for the Padel. They have 6 courts built 2 years ago, and 2 professional coaches: Achraf and Hamza. Every morning at 9am (except Saturday) there is an intermediate Padel coaching, (and at 10 for beginners). Up to 24 can turn up, so with 4 per court you get a coach for 20 minutes and then practise with the players on your court. It was great. We learnt a lot from both coaches who did their best to straighten out our padel but (we are in our 70’s) but changing our strokes was not easy. However, thanks to Hamza my vibora was better than when I arrived! 4 times a week there was a “tournament” in the afternoon. We usually came last but had many good games.
At the sailing club Khalil and Amen were a great help getting me out on the trapeze on the catamarans.
The food was excellent, with plenty of fresh sea food and some of the best raw tuna I’ve ever had. The 9 action stations provided a wide choice from French, Tunisian, and International cuisines. As Brits it was a delight to have the classic French dishes, crepe suzette, mille-feuille, crème brûlée, baguettes, seafood vol-au-vent, etc. There is also a table service restaurant, Calypso, which does a great “late breakfast” till 11:30. Lots of beach BBQ’s, and endless “animation”. They love a bit of line dancing.
The sea was a big disappointment as seaweed came in every day making the sea unpleasant to swim in. They had two tractors collecting it off the beach every morning, but the neighbouring beaches just let it pile up, where it rotted and smelt horrendous. My wife never swam in the whole 2 weeks: the sea was cold, cloudy, and choked with seaweed; the outdoor pools were too cold (21C), and the (heated) indoor pool was packed with kids (not entirely surprising as it was the French holidays and most of the guests were French with children).
Only £5 taxi ride to the nearby city and souk with fantastic local wall paintings. £20 for horse riding from local ranch.

We had a amazing time as a family in Club Med Djerba. We enjoyed many activities like Padel, Kayak, Football, Yoga.. My son Dione really enjoyed his time at the mini club. The GOs were very kind. Special thanks to Hiba, Maleek, Dhia, Mano and specially to our english-speaking GOs, Adel and Chaima. We will return to Club Med and try other destinations.

We had a brilliant stay at Club Med Djerba La Douce! ☀️ Honestly, it had everything: the resort is stunning, the food is absolutely delicious, and the setting is clean, peaceful and perfect for relaxing. Exactly what you’d expect from a proper holiday.

A special mention to Mizo, the G.O. from the teen club, who looked after us brilliantly — always giving it his all, super friendly and attentive; he really made all the difference during our stay.

And a huge thank you to Julie, the club’s G.O. and choreographer, with whom I had the chance to put together a dance/contortion duet and perform it in front of everyone. An incredible and unforgettable moment!!

Our stay at Club Med Djerba in Tunisia was truly amazing. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The resort itself is beautiful and well maintained, with a relaxed atmosphere that perfectly suits a sunny getaway.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Everything you needed was available and kept in great condition with daily housekeeping. It made coming back after a day at the beach or by the pool especially enjoyable.

The food was also absolutely top-notch. There was a wide variety of options, everything was fresh and full of flavor, and there was something for everyone. Whether you enjoy local dishes or prefer international cuisine, the selection did not disappoint.

What really made our stay special were the cocktails made by the bartender Jad. He consistently prepared delicious drinks, perfectly balanced and served with a smile. His cocktails were without a doubt one of the highlights of our holiday.

All in all, a fantastic experience that we would highly recommend. We would love to come back again!
